Proper UV Unwrap
In this project I wanted to learn how to correctly texture a simple object.
I picked a box for which I prepared a geometry and texture image. I decided to fully understand to the process of correct UV map alignment. You can observe the result on image above.
As you can see, on the right side there is a box with applied UV map with box modifier without a proper UV unwrap modifier. On the left side is a properly unwrapped UV map. I also modified the texture to contain some specific effects like rough surfaces / bumps.
